Yaniza is fantastic. She has been teaching Olive ukelele for the past 3 years and they have now moved on to guitar as well! Olive has made amazing progress on both and really loves the lessons

My daughter, who has been taking lessons with Yaniza for more than three years and couldn’t be happier, used the following words to describe Yaniza as a teacher: “patient, caring, kind, hard working, and funny.” All wonderful qualities in a teacher!

in short, the BEST start to a child's music education you could hope for! yaniza combines her understanding of early childhood development and learning with her passion for music in a way that engages our children and gets them excited to make their music their own. my daughter started with uke last year (age 6); and extended to uke and sing this year. and my son jumped in this year at age 5. they love the games and activities that yaniza weaves into their lessons, take pride in coloring in stars when they practice, and have fun creating tunes and lyrics of their own. familiar songs make practice enjoyable; and holiday departures spice things up and get them excited to 'perform'. they each feel ownership over their music folders and the colorful instruction cards that yaniza tucks inside. it's a fantastic balance of joy (in music and creativity) with the disciplines of practice and resourcefulness as they call on the tricks that yaniza instills in them to help learn or re-learn something new. yaniza is patient, encouraging, inspiring and warm and does a fantastic job of personalizing each child's experience. we feel so lucky to have found her!

Yaniza brings a thoughtful and loving approach to music education. My daughter has been taking classes with her for over two years and we have loved every moment of it.

My children love taking lessons with Yaniza! They learn cute songs and love playing games to reinforce what they're learning. They enjoy their practice in between lessons too, as do I. Nothing better than hearing your kids sing the Good Cows Eat Apples song.
